The Best Things to Do in the Canary Islands

All of the Canaries are excellent beach destinations. With fine golden, sometimes black sand; cool and blue waters and clear skies, any beach in the Canary Islands is sure to satisfy the beach bum in you. Picking one or more beaches to visit is going to be a problem though because each one is beautiful and unique. But to start with, consider going to Corralejo in Fuerteventura, Isla Graciosa in Lanzarote, Teresitas and Playa Del Duque in Tenerife.

The archipelago is also abundant with numerous water activities apart from swimming. In most islands, you can do most or all of the following: snorkelling, scuba diving, and ride in a yellow underwater submarine. Additionally, you can go sailing, windsurfing and dolphin/whale watching.

The Canaries are naturally a beach paradise, but there’s so much you can do on land too. You may want to venture into the deep ravines and trek the mysterious trails. Or, if you’re the adventurous kind, climb Mount Teide for a more fulfilling experience. Instead of just hiking, go bicycling, ride the cable cars or take a stroll while riding the camels.
